Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy or acoustic wave therapy is based on pulsating shock waves that are radially spread through the painful area being treated.

Pulses that are transmitted via the transmitter to the tissue create a strong nociceptive activation of Alfa and Beta fibers that affect our body in such a way as to reduce pain.

The acoustic wave sends a large amount of energy to a painful area that accelerates the treatment, reparation and regeneration that is due to the stimulation of revascularization during therapy.

Eliminate the pain in a short period of time

Shockwave therapy is painless and hence the favorite among our patients. In addition to reducing pain, it also reduces the risk of edema, calms muscle tension and spasms, stimulates metabolism and provides better blood supply.

CANDIDATES

Shockwave therapy is a unique solution for the pain associated with the musculoskeletal system and therefore becomes an unavoidable therapy in treating conditions such as:

  • Shoulder pain (with and without calcite)
  • Shoulder injury
  • Elbow injury – Tennis elbow
  • Pain in the pelvis and hip area
  • Jumper’s knee (Patelar tendopathy)
  • Petal thorn (calcan calcanei)
  • Muscle injuries
  • Muscle pain
  • Achilles tendon inflammation (ahilodonia)
  • Injuries and pains in the neck and back
  • Calcifications in the ligaments, tendons and muscles
  • Pain in the hamstring
  • Stimulation of muscle trigger points
  • Removing cellulite
  • Body shaping

PREPARATION

It is enough to come to the Sculpturella office where we will determine during consultation what the problem is and what is the intensity. After consultation,  we determine your individual therapy.

PROCEDURE

The procedure itself is very simple, efficient and painless. It takes only  3-5 minutes. Depending on the intensity of the problem, it is necessary to do 3-5 treatments at intervals of one week.

EFFECTS OF RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Radial shockwaves offer a non-invasive solution to connective tissue problems, tetanus problems, different soft tissue pathologies, and calcification. The reasons why the application of shockwave therapy in the rehabilitation process of patients is significant, is that there is a decrease in pain, acceleration of metabolism, tissue revascularization, and normalization of muscle tone.

The main effect of shockwave application on tissue is the local increase in microcirculation, which causes very rapid relaxation of the muscle and rapid discontinuation of pain.

DISPERSION OF CALCIFICATE

The basic effect of shockwave therapy is the decomposition of calcification in the ligaments, tendons and muscles.

REVASCULARIZATION

During therapy, shockwave waves stimulate the revascularization of treated tissue, which leads to regeneration.

ANALGETIC EFFECTS – SOOTHING AND ELIMINATION OF PAIN

Shockwave therapy reduces muscle tension and prevents spasm. Hyperemia is one of the basic effects of shockwave therapy. It provides better supply of blood, and therefore energy to tense muscle and ligament structures. After a shockwave treatment, the patient feels a significant reduction in pain.

Intensive pulses transmitted through the transmitter to the tissue produce strong nociceptive activation of Alfa and Beta fibers that affect the interneurones, which then inhibit the transmission of pain signals. In addition to reducing pain, shockwave therapy reduces the risk of developing edema.

ACCELERATION OF THE REHABILITATION PROCESS

The use of shockwave therapy greatly accelerates the process of rehabilitation of patients and their return to the functional state before the injury.

STIMULATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF COLLAGEN

Shockwave therapy produces enough collagen that is necessary for the repair process of damaged musculoskeletal and ligament structures. Therapy with shockwave stimulates the production of collagen in deeper layers of tissue.

ACCELERATION OF METABOLISM

Shockwave therapy speeds up the removal of degradable metabolic products, promotes oxygenation, and supplies damaged tissue with the source of energy. In this way,  metabolism is accelerated and the removal of histamine LA and other irritant and harmful substances is supported.

Shockwaves affect tissue at the cellular level. Free radicals emitted by the shockwave apparatus affect the chemical environment by stimulating cells to start releasing substances that reduce pain and reduce inflammatory processes.

REGAINING MOBILITY

With the help of shockwave acoustic wave therapy, hardened fibroblasts are dissolved and biochemical decalcification starts, which enables increased mobility of the treated segment.

ELIMINATING STIFFNESS

Shockwave can provide a feeling of massage, which successfully solves the issue of stiffness of trapezoid back muscles. Patient feels relieved immediately after the treatment that lasts for a few minutes.

SHOCKWAVE CELLULITE REMOVAL

Shockwave acoustic wave therapy uses kinetic energy, that is transformed into a high pressure acoustic wave by using a special technology. Acoustic wave treats two biggest causes of cellulite for women: connective tissue fibrosis around which fatty deposits are formed and fat protrusion.
