Botox

Botox is a medication that has brought the most advancements in aesthetic medicine in the past two decades. Using Botox is the most popular and efficient aesthetic treatment in the world.

Face wrinkles therapy

Botox, short for Botulinum toxin type A, is a filtered protein produced by using the bacteria called Clostidium botulinum. Botox blocks the transfer of the nerve impulse going from the nerve to the muscle, and by doing so it weakens or completely stops the contraction of certain muscles. If we know the anatomy and physiology of face muscles, which of those muscles cause the so called dynamic wrinkles by contracting, we can use Botox to have an impact on the way those muscles function by weakening contraction to the point of muscles being relaxed. Usually those are wrinkles in the upper third of the face, caused by frowning – wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. Lifting of the eyebrows is also a possibility as well as making them symmetric.

Botox prevents deepening of already existing wrinkles or appearance of new ones, as well as significantly reduces the visibility of wrinkles that already exist, if applied to certain muscles.

The treatment is completely painless and safe if performed by an experienced doctor.

CANDIDATES

Botox treatment is meant for everyone who want to achieve younger looks in a quick way. The results of the treatment is tightened skin, without deep wrinkles, with the natural look being preserved. Weakened muscles are followed by stopping the frowning movement, which leads to prevention of appearance of new wrinkles.

Candidates can be people of both genders with visible horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, between eyebrows and around the eyes. It commonly performed with patients from age 30 to age 70.

PREPARATION

Before the Botox treatment, after filling out the Health and Life style Questionnaire, we do a detailed examination of muscles which are used for making face expressions. We apply an anesthetic on the region if the doctor finds it necessary or the patient requests so.

PROCEDURE

After a precise identification of muscles that cause unwanted wrinkles, we use a thin needle to apply Botox in very small, precisely measured amounts, individually determined for each patient. The effect of certain face mimic muscles decreases, skin tightens and, in that way, we decrease and remove the wrinkles. The effect of Botox is localized to places it is being applied to. Patients compare the sensation of applying the needle to acupuncture or eyebrow plucking. The procedure is simple and lasts 5-10 minutes, depending on the region of the face it’s been applied to. The effect is noticeable after a few day (usually 2-7 days). Botox is fully effective after 10-14 day after the injection and lasts from 4-6 months, after which it can be repeated.

The result of the treatment depends on the doctor’s experience with applying Botox as well as the product that is applied. We exclusively use the original product made by the company called ALLERGAN® that is registered with the Serbian drug Agency, as well as 100 ij BOTOX® and 50ij VISTABEL®.
